7 Misconceptions About Retired Life

A quarter of retirees think life in retirement is worse than it was before they retired, according to a recent poll of 1,254 individuals age 50 and older by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard School of Public Health. And 44 percent of retirees think their overall quality of life is about the same as it was while they were working. Only 29 percent of retirees say leaving the workforce made their life better. With that in mind, here are seven misconceptions about life in retirement.

You may have noticed that in the past few weeks, I’ve been morphing into a richer, warmer Autumn color palette. Although I added this dress to my closet over the winter, it feels so perfectly Fall. I’m also digging being a little more matchy matchy this season. I like how the darker burgundy plays back to the dress.

Think you make a good apple pie? You may not even be making an apple pie! But you’d better be if you want to even compete at the Ninth Annual Apple Pie Contest at Enid’s starting at 5pm TODAY.
Anyone, and everyone, is invited to bring a homemade pie with which to wow this year’s panel of judges now that the 50-contestant cap that was put in place to save the judges’ bellies has been lifted this year. SPOTTED AT LINCOLN CENTER:
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and the rest of the fabulous cast of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 arrived at Lincoln Center for the movie premiere last night and paused for photos and interviews in front of thousands of screaming fans before entering Avery Fisher Hall to view the film. Josie Robertson Plaza was surely transformed into a major star-studded event!
